Well. Michael Bay did mention about 3 minutes after the planes hit on 9/11 that there would be a movie madea bout it.
Really not sure how I feel about this though. It might be too soon. Then again, people have gotten back to their dickish ways and most seem to have forgotten about 9/11 & Flight 93 so maybe these movies are necessary to bring it all back.
He also wants to remake The Birds so we'll always have that to look forward to. Wow, what a legacy he's going to leave behind...
That time was so surreal, there is almost no way I think it will ever be captured on film. This city was altered, it was palpable. Everyone on the street walked on eggshells.
I think we are getting to a point where we can see a project of this nature. Let's face it, people get back to their lives and something like that just becomes a blip on the map to most, it's just human nature in the modern world. That said, I think it is extremely important to make this project and more like it. Depending on how profitable it is, we'll see how many more Hollywood will roll out. If it loses money that I think you can forget about that happening. I just hope it doesn't turn into an overwrought propaganda piece.
Whoever does this will be damned in one way or another especially the higher the profile of the project. Oliver Stone is a pretty high profile director but who is really qualified to speak of this day? I mean, I have a project I want to write that deals with the repercussions of 9/11, am I qualified?
